What kind of thinker are you? Take the "Thinker Quiz" and find out! Personally, I am a Linguistic Thinker. Linguistic thinkers tend to think in words, and like to use language to express complex ideas. They are sensitive to the sounds and rhythms of words as well as their meanings. Other Linguistic Thinkers include William Shakespeare, Sylvia Plath, Anne Frank Careers which suit Linguistic thinkers include journalist, librarian, salesperson, proof-reader, translator, poet, lyricist. Since I've already been down the sales career path (not for me......), and music isn't my bag, if anyone knows of a good paper looking to take a chance on a writer/journalist wanna-be, let me know! Oh to be paid to share my opinions........... Thanks to Ad Altare Dei for the pointer on this quiz.

The Boston Globe has come out with another opinion poll regarding the Catholic Church. I've downloaded both the poll and its companion article so I can review them in more detail and provide input here in the near future, but suffice it to say that the poll is anything but an accurate reflection of true Catholic opinion. From my initial analysis, the results are overwhelming skewed in favor of all the Globe's hot button political issues (e.g., allowing women priests 79.5%, reversing doctrine on abortion 62.6% and contraception 75.2%, etc., etc., etc.) and extraordinarily light on the Catholic understanding of these positions. If you are interested, take a look at the CCC # 748, # 880-892, 2270-2275. Providing both sides of these issues, especially when analyzing the results, would make this poll a bit more credible. Instead, it is just another example of the Boston Globe's incredible journalistic malfeasance - sensationalism sells - regarding the Crisis in the Catholic Church. In the coming days, I'll break this down more thoroughly and provide an in depth look at the results. Until then, please pray for us, the parishioners of the Archdiocese of Boston.
